My First Writing Prompt: Music

For this writing prompt, I put my current music playlist on shuffle, and am going to list the first 10 songs that pop up.
I am a country music fan, so a lot of this playlist is country music, but rock music is mixed in along with other genres.

  5. Hurricane by Luke Combs
  6. Strip it Down by Luke Bryan
  7. Love Story by Taylor Swift
  8. Crash and Burn by Thomas Rhett
  9. A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega by Ashley McBryde
  10. If You Only Knew by Shinedown
I am not really surprised that most of those songs are country when I pressed shuffle, considering that is what I prefer listening to. I think what surprises me is that the last song showed up wasn't country. It seems like when I listen to this playlist, usually 20 songs in a row will be country and sometimes the same artist. I got lucky this time that it came up with different artists and not all 10 ended up being country.
I like this little playlist. Majority of the songs have a common theme of love or loss of love, minus aa couple songs. And for the most part they are modern day songs.

Late Night Thoughts

I know I should be sleeping or getting ready to sleep. I have an early doctor's appointment. I think I rescheduled that appointment three times. I am so sick of doctors appointments and sitting in that little room, only to tell the nurse and then the doctor my symptoms or what hurts this time. Then have the doctor search for a solution to what could possibly be causing my symptoms, again and again. This happens at least once a month. And if he can't find an answer, maybe a specialist can or the problem will just disappear. I have too many issues for being in my twenties; I have knee and ankle problems, carpal tunnel, allergies, and who-knows-what else. I just feel like my life is scheduled around appointments. Besides that, I am taking 18 credit hours in college in my fourth year, but am only a junior. Writing Prompt: Is education important?

The things that are taught in schools, from elementary all the way through high school and even college, don't truly relate to what will apply in life. We are not taught about loans, paying taxes, how to sew, how to cook, and anything else that is fundamental to life and living on your own after leaving your parent's house. We are not taught time management and how to deal with stress. Homework is piled on to prepare students for tests. This is seen in all schools anywhere in the states. I feel like -- being a college student -- that this is how it is for us as well. We have these General Education classes that everyone has to take. One or two science classes, at least one math class, and other required classes. Does anyone actually retain that information besides those who go into those careers? More than likely, NO. I know I didn't. I didn't even retain the information from my foreign language classes. I remember the basic words in Spanish and French, but nothing else...
